From Nancy Wilson’s Silver Trophy to Jimmy Page’s two-headed beast, the battle-scarred warhorses of blues, country, jazz and rock and roll are shot in stunning detail. Johnson, and makes an excellent addition to any music lover's library. I also have Lisa S. Johnson's 108 ROCK STAR GUITARS, which is excellent -- both books dovetail and complement each other perfectly. Her photography is unlike anyone else's. You don't get standard shots of these immortal axes, you get works of art. (Here's proof - I keep the book alongside my favorite portrait of Jimmy Page!) I learned so much about the myths and realities surrounding these powerful instruments - the adventure of Peter Frampton's Phenix is especially fascinating! For very little money this book is large, heavy and glossy! Such wonderful quality. Lisa is so passionate about her subject and the pages are fulled with wonderful photo’s of amazing guitars often accompanied by incredible stories and history. So much careful thought & detail was put into honouring the legendary music artists & their guitars!! Definitely worth every cent!! You could almost see & hear their performances, this book brought back a lot of special memories! Lisa S. Johnson does an incredible job noting stories behind capturing photos of each guitar & includes personal touching experiences behind her lifelong quest to obtain them, talk about determination! The end result, a treasure to behold!! I would recommend this book to everyone because the history includes guitars & artists from many different genres. Congratulations Lisa!!
